The heart, in three states
What you see depends only on your own actions — and on whether the feeling turns out to be mutual.
White
The starting state
Everyone you come across shows a white heart. Nothing has happened yet — you haven't shown interest, and you have no way of knowing whether they have.
Yellow
Your private interest
When you tap a heart, it turns yellow in your view only. You're waiting to see if it's mutual. On their side, you still appear white — they aren't told, nudged, or given any way to tell.
Green
Mutual interest
If they independently turn your heart yellow in their own view, both hearts turn green at the same moment. Green is the only state ever shared between two people — that is the cue to go and say hello.
