Questions, answered.
The things people ask most about how Yabodoo works. Still stuck? Reach out and we will help.
What is Yabodoo?
A calmer way to meet people in person. When you are at a venue, you can quietly tap a heart for someone else who is there. Nothing happens unless they tap yours too — then both hearts turn green and you can say hello.
Does the other person know I liked them?
No. Your interest stays private and shows as yellow on your side only. Their heart for you stays plain white. They are only ever told when the interest is mutual, so there is no rejection.
Is there any swiping or chat?
No swiping and no swipe deck. There is no chat by default either — the whole point is to meet in person, because you are already in the same room.
How does it know who is nearby?
Yabodoo uses a mix of Bluetooth proximity and location to confirm you are at a venue, and only shows you people who are in the same room right now.
What is the Today photo?
A live photo taken in the app so people in the venue can actually recognise you. It is only shown inside that venue during an active session and expires at the end of the night.
How do you keep it safe?
SOS with trusted contacts and a 24/7 responder, photo verification, and on-device screening of every image. Core safety features are always free. See our safety and safety tips pages for more.
Is it free?
The core experience, including all safety features, is free. Some optional extras, like Reconnect, may be part of a premium tier.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account any time from the app settings. We remove your personal data within 30 days. See our data protection page for details.
