Safety tips
Simple habits for meeting well.
Yabodoo is built to be safe, but a few simple habits make every in-person meeting feel calmer. Here is what we suggest.
Before and during a meet
Stay in public places
Yabodoo puts you in rooms with other people for a reason. Keep first meetings to the bar, café or event you are already in. There is no rush to go anywhere quieter.
Tell a friend
Let someone you trust know where you are. Add them as a trusted contact so a single SOS tap reaches them instantly.
Arrange your own way home
Keep control of how you arrive and leave. Having your own transport means you can end the evening whenever you like.
Trust your instincts
If something feels off, it is fine to leave. You never owe anyone an explanation. Ending your session stops you broadcasting and takes you off everyone else's screen.
Keep your phone charged
Your phone is your link to SOS, your trusted contacts and emergency services. Start the evening with a full battery.
Guard personal details
There is no need to share your home address, workplace or financial details early on. Take your time.
Know your limits
Keep a clear head, especially on a first meeting. Watch your drink and never feel pressured to keep up with anyone.
Use SOS if you need it
Tap SOS on the Safety tab — you get five seconds to cancel — to alert your trusted contacts with a live location pin. Emergency services are one tap away on the same screen. It is always free.
Safety is built in, not bolted on
These habits sit alongside the safety features already built into Yabodoo — mutual-only matching, the on-device liveness check, SOS with trusted contacts, and reporting.
